Day 5 Nieuw Amsterdam Cruise #GrandCayman

It’s hard to believe that this 7 day cruise is quickly coming to an end!

Today we anchored off of Grand Cayman near the Carnival Breeze and the Regal Princess.

We arrived about 7:30 am, but Andy the Cruise Director insisted that if we weren’t on a shore excursion we should wait until 11:30 a.m. to board the tender.

No problem!

Marty and I returned to the gym and then back to the Lido deck for a great breakfast. I loved the omlets cooked to order and I don’t recall what Marty ate. I know it was something healthy.

As 11:30 rolled around, we headed to the tender. The seas were calm and enjoyed the 15 minute journey to Grand Cayman.

As usual, Marty and I walked to the left and returned to one of our favorite places in Grand Cayman which we have visited 3 times in the past.

I can’t describe everything about the church in this post, but click on the link below to give you some history:

Elmslie Memorial Church: A Historical Monument

During our recent visits to Grand Turk we took a excursion to “Hell” and to the turtle farm, so we just walked around downtown.

Marty wanted me to buy a 24 pack of bottled water to take back to the Nieuw Amsterdam. I was shocked that the purified bottled water cost me $16.00 which was a “discount” from the original price of $20.00!

Note to self: Bring more Zephryhills Spring Water next time!

The next stop was Sharkeez very near to the tenders.

I bought a Coke and boom, back on the wi-fi!

It was great to FaceTime with our daughter Brittany and our grandson Reed.

Then back on the tender to the Nieuw Amsterdam.

We enjoyed another perfect dinner in the Main Dining Room and then enjoyed the comedy of John Wing in the Main Show Lounge.

Be sure to Google his name and check out his YouTube videos!

He was one of the best comedians I’ve ever heard on a cruise ship!

Marty and I took a walk around the deck and headed back to our cabin.

Final SeaDay tomorrow.
