Well, tomorrow we return to Ft. Lauderdale but at least we have one remaining SeaDay on the Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam.
As I’ve previously mentioned, Marty and I have sailed on her sister ship the Eurodam many times.
We really enjoy this class of ship because of the Tamarind restaurant.
In addition, on the smaller ships you will find an older group of passengers, but make no mistake, we would sail on the Maasdam any day of the week!
As usual, the Martster and I started our day with 30 minutes on the treadmill and worked on our arms.
Then off to the Lido deck for breakfast.
We went to our cabin to change into swimwear and while Marty swam for a bit, I met a young lady who just graduated from medical school and her parents who were visiting from Poland!
After lunch on the Lido deck and Marty’s Windows class, we went back to the gym.
The fitness instructor Jake had a great lesson on what to eat to stay healthy.
Jake handed me a piece of paper with his Daily Dozen of healthy food and exercise goals.
Of course during this cruise, the only thing I succeeded on was water and exercise, but this gives us a detailed roadmap to follow!
After the gym, I headed to the Mariners luncheon.
They have a special menu and you get the opportunity to talk to other Mariners and receive a commemorative tile (I grabbed 4 to give away as Christmas gifts!)
After the luncheon Marty and I relaxed at the aft pool for several hours.
I kept making trips inside for 3 scoop chocolate sugar cone ice cream cones and bread pudding.
Later that night we enjoyed dinner in the Caneletto Italian specialty restaurant!

Our favorite dish was the lasagna.
I could have eaten two, but I didn’t want to go nuts and then face the scale when we returned to Jacksonville.
Later that night we walked around the ship and called it a night.
In our time sailing on Holland America Line (over 100 days), I can say this probably was the most perfect cruise we have sailed on.
The service, the food, our cabin, the weather, the ports of call and the ship were absolutely perfect.
Jumping ahead to our final day, we had breakfast on the Lido deck. We stepped off the ship at around 9:15 a.m. and out to the pier by 9:40 a.m. Very fast debarkation. No more of those crazy blue immigration forms!
We can’t wait to come back to Holland America Line.
