Taking my 80 year old mom on her 1st cruise.

My wife Marty (the Martster) and I have over 100 days on Holland America Line and 75 days on Carnival, but it hit me the other day that my mom has never been on a cruise.

My family was raised in Aurora, Illinois about 40 miles west of Chicago.

I joined the Navy when I was 18 right out of high school and the rest is history.

I ended up in Florida and my mom lives near Chicago by my sister and 2 brothers and their kids.

As you may know, Marty and I sailed on the Nieuw Amsterdam the first week in November and it occurred to me that I should take my mom on her 1st cruise. Of course Holland America was the perfect choice.

Marty is excited that my mom will be coming to Orlando first to see our grandson #BabyReed and then spending some quality time with me on the Eurodam starting on Nov 26th.

I will also be reporting on the progress in St. Thomas after the rough 2017 hurricane season.

As my good friend Doug Parker of Cruise Radio has done in the past, I will weigh myself the day of the cruise and stay faithful to return from this 7 day cruise as a passenger, not cargo. You can check out his website at http://www.cruiseradio.net
