Cruise lines help victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.

Hurricane Dorian

If you follow cruise news on Facebook, you probably saw the meme below:

Cruise Radio is reporting, “Norwegian Cruise Line has deployed a cruise ship to the Bahamas for relief efforts after Hurricane Dorian. Norwegian Breakaway will head to the Bahamas on Thursday, September 5 loaded with supplies and one million dollars.“

Cruise Hive is reporting, “Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line which offers short cruises to the Bahamas is sending a ship for evacuations and to deliver supplies.

Cruise Ship Involved in Evacuations

The cruise line which is based out of Port of West Palm Beach, Florida is sending the Grand Celebration cruise ship to Freeport, Bahamas after being devastated by Hurricane Dorian.

This means the previously scheduled departure from Palm Beach has now been canceled. The ship will depart tonight at 8:00 PM for the Grand Bahama Island which is where Freeport is located.”

ClickOrlando.com is reporting, “Royal Caribbean announced Wednesday it had a ship full of supplies ready to head to the Bahamas which, was hit by Hurricane Dorian as a Category 5 storm.

The cruise line said the ship was filled with of 43,000 water bottles, 10,000 meals, generators and other supplies to help the islands recover from the devastation they face.”

Cruise lines step up

Carnival contributes!

WPTV.com is also reporting that Carnival cruise line is assisting in Dorian relief efforts:

I’m glad that the cruise lines haven’t wasted a moment to come to the aid of the Bahamian people. Yes, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and other cruise lines provide memorable vacations to millions of passengers each year. On the other hand, naysayers on Facebook who throw rocks at cruise lines are now forced to eat their words!

I’m proud to be a cruise travel advisor that helps so many people enjoy an affordable vacation experience. I’m also honored to work with such amazing cruise lines.
