The number one question I get, either in person or on my social media channels is, “What is your favorite cruise line?”
The fact of the matter is it really depends on your demographic!
Carnival is my favorite because it’s multi-generational, lots to do for all age groups, and they live up to their branding slogan of “The Fun Ships!”
When my grandson turns 5, I’ll be taking him on Vista, Breeze and Sunshine. #Platinum
My wife and I have sailed over 100 days on Holland America Line (3 star Mariner.)
Keep in mind it’s still the “AARP cruise.”
HAL has become more multi-generational over the last few years, but the fact of the matter is that the over 60 crowd still rules the roost. That’s ok because seniors appreciate the tradition of ocean-going sailing.
My wife and I love Holland America because their are fewer kids running wild down those long halls. In addition, they need to bring back ballroom dancing for those guests who enjoy this activity!
With our friend Senior Hotel Manager Mr. Stan Kuppens.
The service and food is truly 5 star and the ships get consistently high scores on their cleanliness inspections. Search “Scott Lara Maasdam” on YouTube for my numerous HAL videos including super secret tips on Half Moon Cay!
I have good friends who have sailed on Royal Caribbean many, many times. I’ve sailed on the Monarch of the Seas (now retired) a couple of times.
RC has great food, great entertainment and the larger ships have now become the destination.
Three words define NCL.
NICKEL AND DIME!
I’ve sailed on NCL on The Groove Cruise, The Blake Shelton and Friends Cruise and on an 11 day Hawaii cruise.
The food on the Lido deck is lackluster.
If you want good food you have to go to the upcharge specialty restaurants!
My daughter and her husband spent their honeymoon on the Epic and she wasn’t impressed.
In conclusion, if you were to ask me what is my favorite cruise line, I would have to say Carnival. Keep in mind, if you’re a millionaire, Crystal, and Regent are exceptional, but I haven’t reached that tax bracket….yet.
