Day 3 Nieuw Amsterdam cruise #GrandTurk

Marty and I always try to hit the gym each day on our cruises.

Unfortunately, many passengers return from their cruise as cargo!

My fitness coach Wendy Townsend and my close friend Doug Parker of Jacksonville-based Cruise Radio have inspired me to take the stairs and not go overboard (pun intended) regarding eating everything in sight!

Gotta love the bread pudding!!!!

After we hit the gym and then had breakfast on the Lido deck, we headed to our usual lounge chairs near Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. This was our 5th visit to Grand Turk!!!!

I asked several of the staff how Grand Turk managed through the rough 2017 hurricane season. Each person was thankful that they made it through the 90 plus mph winds safely and were glad tourists were returning to their island paradise. They told me much rebuilding is needed, but their friendly attitude shined through!

Later that morning I bought some food and drink and asked for the wi-fi password.

It was great to be connected again!

Marty and I headed back to the Nieuw Amsterdam around 1 p.m. and immediately returned to the Lido deck for some food. I grabbed a Dive In burger and I have no clue what Marty ate!

Later that night as a guest of Master Chef Rudi Sodamin, I enjoyed an amazing dinner in the Tamarind specialty restaurant. Marty was tired from the day and relaxed back in our cabin.

I really enjoyed the Thai soup, Shrimp Tempura and the Beef Tenderloin.

If you ever sail on a Holland America Line ship that has a Tamarind restaurant, be sure to make a reservation. It will be a highlight of your cruise!

Tomorrow we wake up in Amber Cove! This will be our 3rd time visiting this great port of call!
