As you know, I’ve enjoyed cruising for many years, but when I was offered an opportunity to embark on an all inclusive resort experience, I couldn’t pass up the chance!
Since my U.S. Navy days, I’ve enjoyed sailing on the ocean.
My first cruise was 20 years ago on the Carnival Fantasy. I was amazed with the service, the food and the entertainment. Fast forward to today and I’m Platinum VIFP on Carnival and have sailed over 150 days on Holland America Line.
Over the last few years since the cruise lines have been building more and more larger ships, I’ve seen daily mandatory gratuity amounts increase. Cruise Radio reports NCL is increasing tips again! In addition, I’ve seen cutbacks to many things which seasoned cruisers have become accustomed to.
The Grand Palladium Resort and Spa in Riviera Maya is a true all-inclusive experience. Unlike cruises, alcohol, soda, specialty coffees are include (no 15 drink per day maximum). When you are members of the travel club, you receive free round trip transportation to and from the airport, two free shore excursions and $100 in funny money that you can use for merchandise and other purchases.
