TRS Coral review

I’m not taking it off!

I hope you enjoy my review of TRS Coral/Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres!

I’m learning to fly, but I ain’t got wings. #TomPetty

Southwest Airlines flight from Jax to BWI

I recently spent 7 incredible days at the TRS Coral all-inclusive resort in Costa Mujeres, Mexico, just north of Cancun.

Last August, I enjoyed 5 days at the resort, and it was a thrill to return, this time with friends of mine, (who are like family), from Jacksonville.

Getting there

As you know, I’ve cruised quite a bit. I only live 15 minutes away from the cruise port in Jacksonville, a couple of hours away from Port Canaveral, and 5 hours away from Port Everglades. Getting to Cancun was more of a challenge.

In a perfect world, I would love to jump on a non-stop flight from Jax to Cancun, but no such luck. Plan B was going to be flying on American from Jax to Miami, then on to Cancun, but that didn’t happen. I ended up leaving Jax at 7:00 a.m. and flying north to BWI on Southwest! It was a 90 minute flight with about a one hour layover. Next came the 3 and a half hour flight to Cancun.

High five to Southwest. The center seats are still empty, the crews were great, but only a small salty snack and a cup of water was served.

Cancun Airport

Flying in on a Thursday is less stressful than flying in on a Saturday! The airport was pretty empty when I arrived at 1:30 p.m. I had already completed the Mexico tourist card and health questionnaire online. There was no one in front of me, so I proceeded directly to the immigration agent, presented my printed out Mexico tourist card and screen shot of the health questionnaire barcode and boom, on to pick up my luggage!

As I walked around the corner, I saw an airport employee standing in full hazmat gear and another employee sitting at a desk looking at a heat seeking monitor!

Checking your temperature!

Within 5 minutes, I grabbed my luggage and headed to the next security station. My carry-on and checked bag were opened and searched by a kind airport employee. All airport staff, (and the 6000 vendors you see as you run the gauntlet), were wearing masks!

Next stop, outside to my ride!

Amstar

I was greeted by a kind Amstar agent who directed me to my shared-ride van. The driver wiped down my luggage and helped me into the van. I was very surprised that I wasn’t offered a free bottle of water on either of my rides from the airport and returning, but on a scale of 1 to 10 it was a 9.

The Cruise Genius at TRS Coral near Cancun

When I arrived at TRS Coral, the bell boy rapidly took my luggage out of the van and immediately sanitized it! He then kindly directed me to the shoe mats for cleaning, and then to the hand sanitizers for a complete COVID protection experience!

The Palladium Hotel Group is offering free health insurance for all guests to give everyone peace of mind regarding their vacation! This is truly unprecedented in the tourism industry!

Check-in took less than 10 minutes! I presented my passport, answered a few questions, had my temperature taken, and was then escorted to my luxury accommodations!

Swim Up Jr Suite near Helios!

The swim up suites at TRS Coral are amazing. The water is about 4 feet deep and very refreshing! A couple of nights I slept outside on the lounger bed and really enjoyed the gentle evening breezes!

The food at TRS Coral is beyond compare. French cuisine, hearty steaks, Italian, and Asian flair are just a few examples of the gastronomy I enjoyed. *Reservations are required*

Steak!

Nightly entertainment featuring dancers and singers enhanced the all-inclusive resort experience!

Zentropia Spa

One of my favorite places at TRS Coral (Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres) is the Zentropia Spa! The hydrotherapy, infinity pool, massage treatments and much more is truly a welcoming sanctuary!

Tennis, anyone?

The Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre is a world-class tennis training facility where you can learn from the best trainers in the world! Only a short golf cart ride from anywhere in the resort, you will love hitting a few balls or getting professional individual or group lessons!
