I really enjoy my job as a travel agent and being the go to cruise resource on Jacksonville television.
With over 600,000 views on YouTube and over 4000 followers on Twitter, the number one question I’m asked by fans, family and coworkers is, “What’s your favorite cruise line and ship?”
The way I answer the question is, “It depends!”
It depends if you’re traveling with family, looking for a party atmosphere, or if you’re in your 50’s looking for enrichment and some relaxation!
I’m honored that someone would ask my opinion on the subject.
I’ve sailed on Holland America Line over 150 days, Carnival over 75 days, Royal Caribbean over 14 days, Celebrity 7 days and NCL over 14 days.
If I had a choice of a free, all-expenses paid cruise including tips, shore excursions, dinner in the specialty restaurants, spa treatments and VIP treatment, I would choose Holland America Line (HAL).
Marty and I enjoy HAL because there are fewer kids, incredible food and 5-star service. We enjoy their private island Half Moon Cay and the 14 day Southern Caribbean cruises. Our favorite ships are the Eurodam and Maasdam. Search “Scott Lara Half Moon Cay” on YouTube for my HMC videos.
Our second choice would be Carnival. Now that we’ve earned Platinum status, we get early boarding and a few other perks. Our favorite ship is the Carnival Sunshine with cruise director Jaime Dee! We live in Jacksonville only 15 minutes away from the Carnival Elation so that’s always an option.
Our next choice would be Celebrity. I enjoyed a 2010 Celebrity Solstice cruise and loved everything about it. I’m looking forward to the new Celebrity Edge.
Our next choice would be Royal Caribbean and lastly NCL.
