Next stimulus package: It could include a vacation tax credit

Show me the money!

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that President Trump is planning to meet with his senior advisers as soon as this week to discuss another stimulus package, according to a senior administration official.

“We’ve been through the rescue phase and we’re now in the transitional reopening phase and I think generally speaking we’d like to move into a growth-incentive phase for the future economy,” the senior administration official said.

Trump, his advisers and many Republicans in Congress have been taking a wait-and-see approach to the next round of stimulus relief.

The administration is also discussing a tourism tax deduction or tax credit for families or individuals who take a vacation somewhere in the U.S. in the next three to six months, the Journal reported.

Granted, I wish a tax deduction or tax credit would apply to cruises or all-inclusive resorts in Cancun, but clearly this would be great for the economy!

Speaking of taxes, Cruise Radio has a great blog post regarding if cruise lines pay taxes.

When you have cruised in the past, you probably notice something other than an American flag flying in the breeze.

If cruise ships would be registered in the USA, the cruise line would have to abide by a long list of regulations from the Department of Labor and many other governmental agencies!

No wonder why many cruise ships fly the flags of Panama and the Bahamas!
