Cruise Radio is reporting that Carnival Corporation is launching a travel app.

“Carnival Corporation has announced that they’re launching OceanView Mobile, the first travel content app from a travel provider. It’s available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play. It will also be available on the company’s Ocean.com website in late October.

Viewers can choose from over 150 full episodes of favorite “Ocean Original” shows like The Voyager with Josh Garcia on NBC, Ocean Treks with Jeff Corwin, Vacation Creation with Tommy Davidson and Andrea Feczko (both of which air on ABC), and Good Spirits. 30 short-form episodes of “GO” and “Local Eyes” will also be available.

OceanView will also showcase video collections from the company’s cruise brands, including christening ceremonies, the process of ship design and construction, elaborate culinary creations, and ship attractions.”

I think it’s great that Carnival is giving its customers another tool in addition to the popular Carnival Hub app to make the cruising experience even better.

As I mentioned in my previous post, JaxPort now has faster embarkation technology to make boarding the ship much faster.

On one hand, I think it’s a good idea to unplug during a cruise vacation, but society seems to be more and more addicted to technology.

The next time you are on a cruise, even in the main dining room, you will see family members glued to their cellphones.

The days of a “Leave it to Beaver” family sit down dinner where everyone shares their day is long gone.

As I’ve said previously, it’s imperative that parents lay down rules for their kids regarding cell phone’s before the cruise vacation. The key is that parents should practice what they preach!
