As you probably know, MSC Cruises is relatively new to the American cruise market, and the online reviews are what they are. Yes, I was apprehensive about my December 3-7, 2023 MSC Seashore cruise, but my daughter told me to keep an open mind, and I did.
I drove from my home in Jacksonville, Fl to the Port Parking Space in Port Canaveral. They offer great discounts, great customer service, clean transportation and fast drop off and pick up!
After being dropped off at the terminal at 1:30 p.m. for my scheduled 2:00 p.m. boarding time, I immediately went up the escalator, was directed to station 25 where I handed the agent the printed boarding information, my passport and the health questionnaire which I completed. I literally blinked and boom, she handed me my card key, and I immediately walked onto to the MSC Seashore! The fastest I’ve ever boarded a ship! Now, keep in mind only 4400 guests were booked on the ship, so if there were 5600 passengers, this whole cruise experience would be MUCH different!
Elevators like you’ve never seen before!
I immediately went to my cabin. Now, this is very important. The mid-ship elevators are very busy on embarkation day. If your cabin is mid-ship or aft, I implore you to walk all the way aft (back of the ship) and take those elevators!
I loved my balcony cabin. Yes, the shower is small, but that’s the way it is. Also, I should have chosen a cabin on the starboard side of the ship instead of on the port side! If you have a balcony on the starboard side, you will have a great view of Ocean Cay!

The Jungle Pool area is perfect for families!
In conclusion, the MSC Seashore is an amazing ship with a great crew, good food and Ocean Cay is a nice port of call.
The key is sailing during times of the year when the ship isn’t packed. With only 4400 passengers on my Dec 3rd sailing it made the cruise great, but I can’t imagine the experience if the ship was at, or near full capacity.
