NBCNews is reporting, “The grandfather who was with his 18-month-old granddaughter when she fell to her death from an open window on a Royal Caribbean cruise shipwas sentenced Monday to three years of probation, according to Puerto Rico’s Department of Justice.

Salvatore “Sam” Anello, of Valparaiso, Indiana, pleaded guilty to negligent homicide last year after his granddaughter, Chloe Wiegand, fell through an 11-story window from the ship docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in July 2019.”

Speaking as a grandfather of 2 young grandsons, I can’t imagine the pain this family has suffered.

I’m glad Mr. Anello received probation and I continue to pray for the family.
