Carnival Sunshine…a breath of fresh air

Marty and I had a great time on the Carnival Sunshine.

I’m glad that we were able to go so soon after she arrived in her new home port of Port Canaveral.

We enjoyed an incredible pre cruise stay at the Radisson Resort at the Port.

Super friendly service from the minute you walk in the door, very clean rooms, out of this world swimming pool (more like a waterpark), FULL hot breakfast and the shuttle service to and from the hotel was spot on.

I was a little upset that I got both a robo-call (not to be confused with RoboCop) AND an email prior to us leaving the hotel  from Carnival saying don’t come to the port until 12:30 p.m. due to lack of seating at the terminal.

Fine, Marty and I chilled at the hotel.

I went nuclear when I found out that some of my friends blatantly disregarded the messages from Carnival and were on the Carnival Sunshine at 12:00 noon enjoying the first of many Guy’s Burgers.

When the Martster and I arrived at the port around 12:45 p.m. or so, we breezed through security, the check in desk and right on to the ship in under 15 minutes. Maybe it was better to wait until 12:45 p.m. to arrive at the port.

Once on board we were able to go directly to our cabin (Category 4B inside) 2325.

The location was great.

The good:

The Carnival Sunshine has the best cruise director in the Carnival Fleet.

Jamie Dee is Red Bull, 5 hour energy, Rockstar and Monster Energy all in one package. She is just plain incredible.

The Epic Rock show was out of this world.

Fahrenheit 555 was great, but Kruella at the front desk was just plain mean. The food and service was great. Be sure to order the cheesecake!

The not so good:

Kruella (See above).

Please take some time to learn how to navigate throughout the ship.

Skip the milk shake spot. The worst milkshake I’ve ever tasted.

Guy’s Burgers. Here’s the deal. The burgers are great, but the lines can be long. Get there early.

The 3 story Serenity area. It’s second to none, but you better get your lounge chairs early!

Overall, Marty and I really enjoyed our cruise on the Carnival Sunshine.
