Perfect Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

The Cruise Genius on the Celebrity Equinox

My wife Marty and I celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary on the Celebrity Equinox cruise Jan 4-11, 2025 and honestly, it was almost the perfect cruise!

Happy Anniversary!

Perfect weather, great service, amazing food, and the ports of call were good!

As usual, we drove from our home in Jacksonville, Florida to Port Parking Space. The Celebrity Equinox was right across the street from our parking location!

After dropping off the car and riding over to Terminal 1 at Port Canaveral, we seamlessly went through security and the check in process!

No one here! Very cool!

Our check-in time on our boarding pass was 12:30, but we arrived at the terminal at 12:45 p.m. We did all the pre-check in on the app and I must say this was the fastest check-in I’ve ever experienced. Keep in mind that Celebrity does allow you to bring water and soda, but, you must hand carry it! Definitely saves a bunch of money!

As soon as we boarded, we immediately went to our muster station location in the forward theater.

If you look at the Celebrity app and click on the “Safety” tab, you will view the specific location of your muster station! I highly recommend getting the muster drill out of the way so you can begin enjoying your cruise vacation.

We were in cabin 8157 which was an interior cabin, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was bigger than I imagined and the shower was a good size!

Later in the cruise, I attended the Captain’s Club welcome party where I met Captain Nicko, Patrick the amazing cruise director, and several of the officers!

Our first port of call was Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republican!

Our second port of call was San Juan Puerto Rico. We’ve been to San Juan many times, so all we did was walk across the street and bought some more bottle water at the Walgreens!

Our third port of call was St Kitts. The port has really improved since we were there many years ago.

Our favorite place to relax on the Celebrity Equinox was the Solarium. Get there early (or at night!) to get a great chair or round lounge chair!

We didn’t pay extra to eat in the specialty restaurants because the food was so good in the main dining room. The only problem I had was with the Chicken Cordon Bleu because absolutely no ham in the pastry! Other than that, the food was great.

I did experience the “Behind the Scenes” tour which included a visit to the Engineering Control Room, the Galley, and the Bridge!

I’m the Captain now.

Here’s a video of all the fun you could have on a Celebrity Equinox cruise.

I have to say that Celebrity is now my favorite cruise line and thanks to the leadership of Celebrity for making the decision for the Celebrity Equinox to sail from Port Canaveral!

Please permanently station a Solstice-class ship in Port Canaveral!

I guarantee it will sail full each and every time!
