Cruise Planners corporate announced on their LinkedIn page that Vicky Garcia has passed away.

“It is with a sincere and heavy heart that we announce the passing of Cruise Planners’ beloved COO Vicky Garcia. Words cannot begin to express the loss we feel, and what she means to our organization.

Vicky was a trailblazer who added so much to the travel industry, with her vivacious laughter, can-do attitude and keen intelligence. To say that she will be deeply missed is an understatement.

In the coming months, we will continue to honor her legacy but today, we send our deepest condolences to her family and mourn the loss of a true giant. RIP Vicky.”
Her bio reads, “Vicky Garcia always knew she was meant for the travel industry, and her fierce drive and philanthropic spirit help keep Cruise Planners at the top.

Vicky Garcia has spent more than 25 years in the cruise industry and is now one of the most respected women in travel. Vicky learned the travel industry from the ground up, starting in high school as a cruise line reservation sales agent before moving on to leadership positions at Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Cruise Planners.

Vicky’s leadership as well as her role as an advocate and volunteer for many causes including The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society have secured her the recognition of being one of South Florida’s Top 25 Influential Business Women, The Boys & Girls Clubs 100 Outstanding Women of Broward County, and the godmother of Viking Cruises’ Viking Magni. Vicky also sits on the board for Cruise Line International Association (CLIA), Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Line, American Express Travel, Special Needs Group, DEPARTURES Magazine Advisory Board, Regent Seven Seas Council and The Travel Corporation.”

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the entire Cruise Planners family on this loss. We will miss her.
